Behind the scenes

There is always stress involved in fam pics. What do we wear? Where do we take them? What do we want to capture? Will the kids behave? Can we get everyone smiling at the same time? You cannot tell, but as we were taking these pictures, raindrops were falling on our heads and it was black on the other side. How appropriate. Nothing is as perfect as it looks. We all have storms to weather.
The parents and aunts and uncles were doing their best to get them to all look straight ahead and smile. That does not just happen.
Despite the stress, the rain and all of the struggles that come with littles, I think we captured us pretty well. Solidly imperfect. Just weathered one storm and another one brewing overhead. Some looking like “you people are kinda crazy.” And some of us struggling to smile while others are there for us trying to help us to do just that.
I hope you have people in your life who are willing to struggle alongside of you and help you smile.
