Family and Friends
Ahhhhhhhh, how true is this?!
I remember when my kids were in middle school and their circle of friends was wide. Then, when they started high school, it narrowed a bit.
As we grow up, many things change. I think our circle of friends is one of those. They may get smaller, but hopefully they go deeper. We have many acquaintances, but there are very few outside of family that we know we could call at 3 a.m. and they would come over if we needed them. Those who can empathize with us. Those who may not agree, but they’re there for us to allow us to feel what we feel and sit with us through the pain. Those who aren’t afraid of the mess. They’re willing to sit in it with us and then help us clean up and get back on our feet. And then walk with us.
Those are your true friends. You may have more of those than we do, but I’m thankful for the ones we have. Quality really is greater than quantity.
